This art is about pointillism and blending different colors to create new shades and tints. The requirement for this term was to bring in certain objects, then to take many pictures of them from different angles. After that, we had to choose between pointillism, pastel blending and cut outs. I choose pointillism, so in an A4 piece of black paper I had to draw the picture I had of those objects using complementary colors. It took me a total of 6 art lessons to complete this work. It was a single project, so no one else had any input to my work.
This piece of work is significant, because I love art and it was the first art project that I did where I had to use chalk pastels to make pointillism. It is definitely something that I am proud of. I received a high grade for it. It is something developmental that helped me reach a new level in the subject, because now I know how to blend colors which is the most important thing in art. In other words, I have chosen this piece of work for my portfolio because it is one of the few art projects we did this year and in my onion it was pretty good.
Doing this work has improved me as a learner in the MYP program because now I am more of a thinker and knowledgeable as I can apply my vast knowledge of art into my art work. I am also a risk taker because pointillism is the hardest of the three as it takes a long time to make the dots. It helped me organize my time and work more effectively. It demonstrated that I am capable of doing art, so now I have a lot more confidence than before in my artwork. With my new knowledge and skills I will apply it to all of my artworks, so that I can achieve the highest possible marks. This is moving me across the path of life, because now I know how to express my feelings through art.
